This continues the letter dated 17th February 1965, which simply began:
Thursday 18th February
Tonight we popped into Manhattan and went to a Broadway cinema and saw Jack Lemmon in ‘How to Murder Your Wife.’ A great film (co-starring Terry Thomas who is very popular over here), and the cinema was fabulous. It was very small and intimate with very plush and comfortable white leather seats, and thick plush carpeting.
The cold weather has turned out to be the cause of the electric shocks, and as it’s bitterly cold here again, we are getting lots lately. Actually Colin is getting more than I am now, and I have seen lots of other people getting them too.
I had one today when I touched the door knob, and the crack and blue flash was really terrific. It must be something peculiar to this country as I have never experienced this before in England.
